TailLink is provided to you by Wu Xinlong (hereinafter referred to as “us”) for use in connection with the TailLink application. This Privacy Statement is formulated by us for the purpose of handling your personal information.
We place great importance on the protection of your personal information and privacy. We will take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in accordance with legal requirements and industry-best practices.
We will only use your personal information where there is a legal basis for doing so. In accordance with applicable laws, we may use your personal information with your consent, where it is necessary for the performance/execution of a contract between you and us, or where it is necessary to comply with legal obligations.
1.1 We provide you with the ability to connect to the Tailscale/Headscale network, access resources within the network, and communicate with nodes on the network. In order to use these services, we need to process certain information as required by our contractual obligations. If you fail to provide this information, it may affect your ability to use the relevant features/services of this application.
For analysis purposes, we need to collect your user identifier after obtaining your consent.
1.2 Based on the fulfillment of legal obligations or as required by other laws and regulations, we may process the following personal information about you:
For analysis purposes, with your consent, we need to collect your user identifier, account information, application basic details, application operation logs, application settings, application status, as well as the version and timestamp of the consent and privacy agreements.
During the VPN connection process, your device’s network configuration details (such as the Tailnet IP address, node list, and preferences) are processed and stored locally on your device only. We do not collect, upload, or retain this information. We also do not read, record, or analyze the content of your communications transmitted over the encrypted tunnel. Application logs contain only the minimum amount of information necessary for diagnostics, such as connection status, error codes, number of bytes transmitted, and duration. This information is anonymized before being stored.
If you have further requests regarding your data subject rights, or if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, you may contact us using the methods outlined in the “How to Contact Us” section of this statement, and exercise your relevant rights.
4.1 We commit that, unless otherwise required by laws and regulations, we will retain your information for no longer than is necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected.
4.2 The above information will be transmitted and stored on servers located within China.
The data transmitted through this software is encrypted directly between your own devices. Point-to-point connections are preferred. When a direct connection isn’t possible, the data is encrypted and forwarded via Tailscale/Headscale relay servers. Neither the software’s operator nor any control servers have access to, forward, or decrypt your data.
You may access the resources on your own device only through fixed subnet IP addresses or domain names. This software does not provide global traffic proxying, global DNS forwarding, or the ability to forward all traffic from one device to another. You must not use this software to access websites or services that are legally restricted overseas, nor to engage in any other activities that violate laws and regulations.
To fulfill legal obligations and prevent unauthorized use, your Huawei account will be linked to records of your usage activities (login sessions, consent given to various terms and their timestamps, device model, and system/app versions) in an irreversible hash format. In case of any illegal or unauthorized activities, we reserve the right to cooperate with relevant authorities using these records to trace the source of the issues. We may also take measures such as suspending or revoking the affected accounts.
You may contact us in the following ways and exercise your relevant rights. We will respond as soon as possible.

If you are not satisfied with our response, especially when the processing of your personal information has infringed upon your legitimate rights and interests, you may seek resolution through external channels such as filing a lawsuit with the competent people’s court, or filing a complaint with industry self-regulatory bodies or relevant government agencies. You may also ask us for information regarding the applicable complaint procedures.
